I can’t do this! You expect me to investigate my friends and colleagues? I can’t see any of them being a murderer, and any investigation I could possibly think of at this point would be a massive breach of trust. I don’t have the tools or the ability to do what you need. Hell, I don’t even think I have the willpower. I can’t break into someone’s house, I can’t hack into someone’s emails, I can’t guess passwords, I can’t do all those crazy things I see on TV. I don’t know why you chose me, but I’m not the detective you think I am.
