Why did we not reach our new year deadline? Do you know how many contracts were dependent on that deadline being fulfilled?

First of all, with respect, this is a conversation between you and me, there was no need to bring Sable or Lakshmi into this. However, since you’ve decided they should be involved in this conversation, this message is for them as well:
That deadline was impossible! At no point did you consult with any of your actual programming staff about if it was possible to build an entire new shard by New Year’s. Instead, you set expectations that could not be met, and now you are punishing them for not meeting your lofty goals.
And before you say it, no, neither one of them we’re going to tell you that you were pushing them too hard, so don’t use your “but I talk to everyone on the team” bullshit that you use to get out of other interpersonal problems here. I have been telling you this for months, Sable is too much of a perfectionist to be truthful about what she is capable of, and Lakshmi is too shy because of her language skills. Of course, you would know that if you actually listened to them, rather than just walkaround and talk at everyone
If this is a big enough problem that you must fire anyone, fire me, because if you continue to treat your programs this way, I will quit anyway.
