To all current employees.
I am sorry to announce that Doctor Edward Kimble passed away last night. The doctors believe he had a heart attack in his sleep, most likely related to him contracting some sort of sickness. He had a long and well-documented history of heart conditions. We are sad to see such a brilliant mind lost so early.
We will be holding a memorial service for him at noon on Wednesday. Food will be provided by the company. You will be compensated for your time, and as such, will be expected to be there.
For the immediate future, as Director of Operations, I will be stepping in as the acting Director and CEO of AITIS, until the board decides on someone else. At this time, there is no reason to believe that any development schedule will need to be adjusted or changed to account for this event, but we do ask that all employees be flexible in the upcoming months as we handle this transition. We thank you for all your understanding.
Because my spot has been made vacant, we have decided to shuffle some of our higher management, in order to ensure all jobs and tasks are fulfilled. Within the next few weeks, the following people will be taking the following positions:
Jeremy Solts: CEO and Director, stepping in for Dr. Edward Kimble. Will still be on Board of Directors.
Demitri Popov: Will be stepping in as Chairman of the Board of Directors. This decision was made nearly unanimously after the news of Dr. Kimble’s death.
Fen Li: Director of Development and Operations. She will now be responsible for all timelines and product deadlines.
Robert Brawn: Head of Finances. This is not a change per se, but given he is still a new employee, it is best to include him in this list.
Arianna Martinez esq.: Head of Legal. While keeping the same role, her job will now be expanded to include some business decision-making processes. This includes a spot on the Board of Directors.
Dr. Sable Kuhns: Head of R&D. While she has served this role for years unofficially, we are taking the opportunity to make it official. She will be getting an office starting next Monday. She will still continue to serve on the Board of Directors.
Derek Scott: Head of PR. Scott will still be serving as our receptionist as well, but will no longer be making coffee runs.
Sarah Lockman: Head of HR. This is less a change, but a formality because we are now actively looking for her to have an assistant. Given the movement in leadership, she will need an extra person to fill out the paperwork.
Nicholas Papadopoulos: Funding Manager and Outreach. He will also be serving on the board of directors
Lakshmi Kumar: Head of AI Development. Mrs. Kumar will be taking over Dr. Kuhns’s role. While you may still ask Dr. Kuhns questions about past developments, and she will still be actively involved in the development process, Mrs. Kumar will be the one to talk to about all future developments.
